CURCA 2019!

Did you get a chance to check out our work from the Spring Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity this year? If you didn’t, check out some of our recent research: (in alphabetical order…)

Katie Chapman presented some of the preliminary results of her eye-tracking study. She is interested in how eye-tracking and skin-conductance measures change in the presence of negatively-affected pictures. Check out the poster here: [Poster]

Olivia Gwynn presented some of the lab’s results from an upcoming spoilers study in which participants are able to select the media they watch beforehand. Check out the poster here: [Poster]

Kayla Ovelheiro presented her preliminary results from a study testing how students “choke” under pressure. Replicating the design of Beilock and Carr (2005), she has replaced the math-centric test questions with a more domain-general pattern-solving task. Check out the poster here: [Poster]

Allison Webster presented a research design proposal for an idea she has been cooking up this semester. She is interested in the effect dogs/canines have on anxiety. I would like the poster, but that project is still under development, and we will give you more news as it comes along!
